The starting XV

Everyone has an opinion on what the best starting XV would be for England so here's mine.

There's no chance of it matching Brian Ashton's though!

15. Lewsey
14. Cueto
13. Tait
12. Catt
11. Robinson
10. Wilkinson
9. Perry
1. Sheridan
2. Regan
3. Vickery
4. Kay
5. Shaw
6. Worsley
7. Moody
8. Dallaglio

Subs: Mears, Stevens, Corry, Farrell, Noon, Gomarsall, Rees

You can compare this to Jeremy Guscott's starting XV here.

Totally agree with the choice of backs, althou rumour has it that Farrell is guaranteed to start in the first game. Reckon the front 5 is right as well but I'd play Rees instead of Moody who runs around like a headless chicken; also disagree with Guscott's statement that Rees will get knocked off the ball - perhaps that's a Wasps bias - but dont reckon you can justify starting with both Dallaglio and Easter. Wilkinson needs to find some form as he has looked poor for a while now, but as there isn't really another option there cant be much debate about it. Also agree with Stephen Jones comment in the Sunday Times yesterday that Ashton's refusal to play Lewsey at 15 now smacks of stubborness.
