Just quickly before I go and do some work, finally Lewsey gets to play at 15, how does Sackey retain his place? Smallest ever midfield? Chuter needs to throw straight although he should have been starting based on his form last year. How can Rees, the only English forward who has looked comfortable get dropped? Hipkiss, who for me, was one of the stars of the premiership last year must be pretty hacked off.....pleased to see Gomers starting as well as I reckon he has the best pass of the 9s out there........

I'm going to stick up for Sackey, he's not had much chance to do anything so far,and he's the only winger in the squad who has the capability to strike from long range (Robinson doesn't have the legs any more) or do something different. In addition he kept Tuilagi under wraps in the Heineken cup final, and that may well have counted in his favour.
The last nail in Ashton's coffin? Robinson didn't seem to know his best side and look what bcame of him.
Agree about Rees and, contrary to one other comment, Sackey. For me Sackey looks naive in defense, but I haven't watched enough of him to know that for sure.
The Lewsey one sums up a major problem for Ashton for me - he doesn't know his best team and he's showing extreme indecisiveness in selection which transfers itself into a non-confident team with no cohesion from playing together. In going back on the (wrong) decision to stop Lewsey playing fullback, he's shown just how indicisive he is.
To answer the previous comment, things aren't looking good for him, because his inconsistent selections have contributed to England's poor showing.
